EVERY SATURDAY, EARLY BIRD GAME STARTS AT 7PM

Bingo Volunteers Welcome

The Saturday Night NewBrook Bingo game is the financial mainstay of our Department, consistently providing more than a third of the department’s annual income.

Like everything else at NewBrook, the Saturday Night Bingo games are put on entirely by volunteers, organized into six teams of 3-4 people. Each team is responsible for putting on a game every sixth Saturday, or about 9 evenings per year.

You need not be a member of the department to help run Bingo. You need not be a resident of Newfane or Brookline. Your participation can take several forms, as the games require different tasks: calling, selling admissions, selling additional Bingo cards, selling lottery tickets, confirming and paying off winners, cleanup, and securing the building.

The main requirement for being a Bingo volunteer is reliability. We try to run the games in a friendly and informal manner so everybody has fun, but volunteers do need to commit, firmly and unfailingly, to showing up on their teams’ Saturday nights from 5:45 p.m. to about 9:30 (or they need to arrange for a substitute)

If you can spare an evening (less than one Saturday night per month), and think you might be interested in helping, in this financially crucial way, to support our department in its essential work in the community, we’d like to hear from you. Please call Bob Litchfield, NewBrook’s Bingo Captain, 365-4061.
